Job Role Overview

Job Location: Hallmark Conestoga Mall
Job Title: Assistant Manager
Job Type: Part-time, approximately 30 hours per week

As an Assistant Manager, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day success of Hallmark Conestoga Mall. Working closely with the Store Manager, you'll help lead and support the store team, ensure company policies and operational standards are followed, assist with training and employee development, and help resolve customer concerns with professionalism and care. You'll also support merchandising, inventory management, store presentation, and daily operations while helping ensure every customer receives the friendly, thoughtful service they expect when visiting Hallmark.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Store Manager to support the effective day-to-day operation of the store.

• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members while helping foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

• Help train, coach, and develop new and existing employees.

• Ensure company policies, procedures, and operational standards are consistently followed.

• Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service.

• Assist customers with product selection, recommendations, and purchases as required.

• Address and resolve customer questions or concerns professionally, with a focus on achieving a positive outcome.

• Help motivate team members to deliver strong customer service and contribute to store goals.

• Support the Store Manager with employee supervision and daily staff leadership.

• Oversee merchandise and inventory, including stocking and replenishment.

• Help maintain attractive, organized merchandise displays and consistent visual merchandising standards.

• Ensure the store remains clean, organized, well-stocked, and welcoming throughout the day.

• Support seasonal merchandising, promotions, and new product launches.

• Help ensure health, safety, and security policies and procedures are followed.

• Work independently and take responsibility for store operations when required.

• Provide additional operational and leadership support to the Store Manager as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience is required.

• Previous experience in a retail leadership role, such as Key Holder, Shift Leader, Supervisor, Senior Sales Associate, or Assistant Manager, is strongly preferred.

• A demonstrated history of reliability and dependability.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to support, motivate, and guide a team.

• Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and creating positive customer experiences.

• Friendly, approachable, and professional.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

• Self-motivated with a desire to learn, develop, and take initiative.

• Comfortable working independently and making decisions when required.

• A collaborative team player who contributes to a positive working environment.

• Organized, dependable, and attentive to detail.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
